Is Renee Striking Enough To Be the IT GIRL?

Don't get me wrong, I feel her pain , however she is not striking enough. In fact her watered down black features are to blame for her lack of ascension in high fashion. To make it as a respected supermodel, you have to be strikingly gorgeous or hideously ugly. No in between. High fashion is not for prom queens.

I must admit after watching this video, I could not see any potential in Renee as a high fashion model. She was just not striking. Pretty eyes however, let's just say she should master the art of laying in the sun in an effort to appear darker. Paging Alek Wek.

And please work on your walk Renee.  That ghetto walk does not work in high fashion. And get some sleep, circles under your eyes is not going to help you book jobs. You want your clients to be instantly drawn to you. More like casting a spell on them with one look.

Lately, it seems that every Tom, Dicky Dick and Harry wants to have a blog. There is nothing more painful and hurtful than to witness bad fashion sense and to make matters worse, the culprits feel bold enough to not only write about it but to also post a picture as well, in order to get their point across; Please Spare Me the Horror!

In fashion, there is such a thing as over-accessorizing. translation : trying too damned hard. Before one sports animal prints, at least recognize that before you can graduate to animal prints, you first have to have a decent grip on the basic color pallette.

If you are wearing a Leopard print shirt , do not carry a Zebra print bag! It looks tacky! This is what I mean, when I say, have a general grasp of pallettes before hanging a noose around your neck, in the name of " I like all animal prints", so I am going to wear them all at once.

Von Furstenberg Inspires Once Again

This year's New York Fashion Week was definitely spectacular, to say the least. Electric is the more like it, with celebrities like Kanye West, Kimora Lee Simmons, Russell Simmons, etc tweeting their arses off on the beauty both in the city and the runways, if you weren't in NYC, you were on your way or like many clicking your heels , hoping you'd magically arrive smack dab in NYC to view the awesomeness designers had created  for its obedient citizens. Us.

When you hear the name Diane Von Furstenberg, two things immediately come to mind, Wrap Dresses and Sophistication. She brought it again, ladies! and she went hard ! In fact, many fashion insiders were pleasantly surprised by the print influence in her Spring 2011 collection . Makes you wonder if her new creative director, Yvan Mispelaere had something do it with. Maybe, however, Von Furstenberg soley built the brand we know as DianeVon Furstenberg . We are sure she had much  influence in this collection.

This "Blood Diamond" actor has definitely placed his African nation, Benin on the international map. A Golden Globe nominee, Academy Award Nominee and a handful of nominations in the Film industry and Fashion world, Djimon has proven he is a master at his craft. Hard to imagine he only made his debut, as an actor, in 1990 as a doorman on "Beverly Hills, 90210". You go Broda!!

Mathew Mensah is another Ghanian-Scandinavian hottie. Yes, we get SUPA hot looking at him. He founded Child Hunger Campaign as well as CATWalk The World. This is the guy Ladies!!!such a hottie. I just learned of this next hottie, Van Vicker. Who would've thought Africa was boasting with such hot men? This Nollywood( Nigeria version of Hollywood, much like Bollywood) actor is a 100% hunk. Sorry ladies he is also happily married. He is also of Liberian /Dutch &Ghanian ancestry.

ARISE Model of the Year

ARISE fashion week drew to a dramatic close today with Nigeria taking 4 of the 9 awards at ARISE Fashion week. Nigerian native Oluchi Onweagba was named Model of The Year. And I am not surprised. Oluchi is a beautiful girl and Supermodel. You might know her from her seductive pounce down the Victoria Secret runway. Gorgeous woman indeed.

Tiffany Amber was awarded Designer of the Year, while Ituen Basi took home the Award for Innovation. Eyola was awarded the Most Promising Designer. But wait!!!!I've got a knuckle buster!!!!

R. Kelly also performed at the event. I am a bit shocked Jewel by Lisa didn't take home any awards, her designs are FIERCE.

Gisele Bundchen is expecting!!! Wow, tongues have been wagging since Gisele officially became Mrs.Tom Brady. Apparently she is due early next year, so that makes her 3months pregnant! Her husband Tom Brady is a football hunk. And this is not the first child for Tom Brady. He shares a gorgeous son with actress, Bridget Moynahan.

A spokesperson for Gisele and Tom confirmed Gisele's pregnancy news today.

Just two days ago, Uncle Russie aka Russell Simmons was spotted at a NY club with french model Noemi Lenoir. Word is the two were all over each other. When one left the other , the other had intense gaze on the other. Could this be Kimora's replacement?

Noemi is no Julie Henderson. Y'all remember Julie , the Sports Illustrated model who dated Russ for a brief time and ended up publicly bashing another ex of Russel on the internet.

Noemi is definitely on the superstar status, having starred as Genvieve in "Rush Hour 3". She is not at a loss for fame. She is also the face of L'Oreal, and signed with Ford Models.

It's Thursday and this Glen Plaid Trench is part of my Righteous Thursday. Loving this Nordstrom's men's inspired Trench. In Hindi Religion and most Indian languages, "Thursday" is Guruvaar, which in Sanksrit is the name of Jupiter. It is the day of Jupiter. Also known as the planet of luck.

So, here's my selection for to Righteous Thursday on the fashion front. A Glen Plaid Trench, inspired by men's trennch. absolute Winner. Especially bubbling with excitement over the ultra-femme bow. This is so fashion forward. Femme.

Jason Wu's 2010 Resort Collection definitely produced vibrant fashion in a flirty, strong urban chic style. His flowy polkadot summer dress was sensuality defined, Wu style. And I love it.

A favorite is his orange mini with soft overlapping layers . Not to mention, the short sleeved trench. Well done!
